About ScribeShort

ScribeShort is a free website that turns short videos into text. Paste a link to a TikTok video and you get the spoken words back as plain text you can copy or download. Tools for Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts are next.

Why it exists

Short videos carry a lot of useful speech: tips, recipes, explanations, quotes. Getting those words out usually means replaying the video and typing, or paying for a transcription app. ScribeShort does the boring part in one click so writers, students, researchers, and creators can get on with their work.

How it works

When you paste a link, ScribeShort asks a processing service (Apify) to fetch the captions that the platform already created for that video. If there are none, the service transcribes the speech from the audio instead. The text comes back to the site and is shown to you. No account is needed and nothing is stored here. What it does not do

• It cannot read videos with no speech, and noisy audio can produce mistakes.
• It cannot reach private videos or private accounts.
• It does not save or re-upload videos.
• It does not store your links or transcripts.
